State of Infrastructure (SOI)

State of Infrastructure (SOI)

Lr. Project Management reports on the current state of the organization’s assets. We present information on the asset portfolio including inventory, condition, cost, etc. accompanied by information on supporting data.

A. Purpose of the SOI

To record the condition of an asset portfolio
To serve as Chapter of an Asset Management Plan (AMP).

B. Scope of SOI

The scope of the SOI usually contemplates all the asset classes, including:
Vertical Assets
Linear Assets
Portable Assets
Natural Assets

For us, the following types of assets are typically not included as they are not susceptible to physical degradation:
Intangible Assets

C. Content of SOI

The state of infrastructure contains the following sections:
Asset Inventory
Asset Valuation
Asset Useful Life
Asset Condition
Method of Assessment
Condition Grades

D. Management of SOI

At Lr. Project Management, we recommended that the SOI be updated every 2-3 years, depending on the asset class and criticality of the assets.
